There are a host of benefits associated with membership in the Federation. Benefits include:

  • Certificate of Membership – Certificate signed by the Minister of Sports and recognized within the business community as a sanctioned and legitimate organization.
  • Seminars – Membership gives you 50% discount on all federation seminars.
  • Tournaments – Membership gives you 50% discount on all federation tournaments.
  • Marketing and Public Relations – Visibility of your organization on the Federation website – FREE to members. Visibility through press coverage of Federation tournaments and events.
  • Financial Aid – Assistance to member organizations who meet Federation criteria.
  • Grading and Testing - Qualified federation members and/or foreign entities provide student grading and testing.
  • Instructors Courses – The Federation will sponsor regular courses to aid member instructors.
  • National Squad – Members’ students are eligible to participate in the national squad set up and trained by the Federation’s Technical Committee. The national sqad represents St. Lucia in regional and international tournaments.
  • Training Venue and Gear – The Federation is working on securing a training venue for all members to use. Basic equipment will be provided such as punching bag, focus pads, miitens, head gear and one Gi for the Chief Instructor.
  • Technical Assistance – Members will receive qualified technical assistance in a number of areas including referee judging training, syllabus creation, and tournament assistance.
  • Federation Affiliation – Members may use the Federation logo on approved materials.
  • Government Recognition and Support – Access to government funding and support through the Department of Youth and Sports.
  • Representation – Locally, Regionally, and Internationally.
  • Professionalism – Karate recognized in society and the corporate sector as a professional art.
  • Joint Programming – Ability to achieve more with limited resources.

The fees to join the Federation are $100 annually.
