The St. Lucia Karate Federation provides leadership, oversight, and support and strengthens the member karate organizations in St. Lucia. Specifically the Federation:

  • Serves as a certification and education body to maintain the standards of the karate community.
  • Sets code of ethics and standards of behavior.
  • Provides oversight and works closely with the Technical Director and Committee to ensure a strong national squad.
  • Conducts fundraising to build the karate organizations and enable participation in off-Island tournaments.
  • Facilitates and hosts annual championships.
  • Raises awareness of karate in St. Lucia and beyond through the press, tournaments, seminars, demonstrations, and more.
  • Builds strong relations with the Minister of Sports to maintain financial and governmental support.
  • Sources assistance from international bodies for the development of Karate.
  • Organizes trials, representative, international and other Karate Development events and tours in the interest of Karate.

The St. Lucia Karate Federation is:

  • A member of The St. Lucia Martial Arts Commission.
  • Recognized by the Department of Youth and Sports.
  • Recognized by the National Olympic Committee.
  • Recognized by the World Karate Federation.

The Federation Constitution is currently under revision, and will follow shortly.

The Executive Committee is an elected body responsible for the day to day affairs of the Federation, both managerial and administrative.
